Participating in condominium association meetings

With ownership of a Naples beachfront condominium residence comes an abundance of benefits: spectacular views, sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico, quick access to prime Naples commercial areas, and of course, the year-round sunny weather! But as with all manners of community living, there are certain practicalities – one of which is dealing with a community association.

The good news is that condominium associations are generally much smaller than homeowner associations, and association meetings can be a great place to get your voice heard. In a recent Naples Daily News article, local attorney Rob Samouce attempts to clarify the participation rules of these meetings:

For [condominium association owner] meetings, whether annual or special…Florida Statutes, provide that “Unit owners shall have the right to participate in meetings of unit owners with reference to all designated agenda items.”
